Does Shopify keep a history of product changes?

Not one you can see. Shopify logs some events internally but never shows field-level before and after values for products. Catalog Canary records every tracked change with the old value, the new value, the source, and the time it happened.

Will it slow down my store?

No. Catalog Canary adds no theme code and loads nothing on your storefront. Changes arrive through Shopify webhooks and are processed on our servers, so your store speed is untouched.

Which fields does it track?

Prices, compare-at prices, cost, inventory, SKUs, barcodes, titles, descriptions, tags, images, variants added or removed, SEO fields, sales channels, collections, and custom metafields. You choose exactly which fields matter to you.

Can I undo a bad change?

Yes. Most changes show a Restore button that puts the previous value back in one click. The app asks for write permission the first time you use it.

How is Catalog Canary different from other product history apps?
